The Young Africa Centre presents author, historian, and academic luminary, Robin Walker, leading a discussion on African Spirituality and Philosophy. The in-conversation and audience Q&A session will be moderated by Lyndon Mukasa, a journalist and writer at the Voice Newspaper.

Robin Walker, affectionately known as 'The Black History Man,' is a dynamic and multi-talented individual whose life journey spans London and Jamaica. With a rich tapestry of experiences as an entrepreneur, publisher, educator, and author, he brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to every platform he graces.

A scholar in his own right, Robin embarked on his academic journey at the London School of Economics, where he delved into Economics from 1987 to 1990. His thirst for knowledge led him to pursue African World Studies under the mentorship of luminaries like Dr. Femi Biko and Mr. Kenny Bakie in 1991 and 1992.

In 2006, Robin penned the ground-breaking masterpiece, "When We Ruled," a magnum opus that stands as the most comprehensive synthesis of Ancient and Medieval African history authored by a single individual. His work garnered international recognition, with Black Classic Press of Baltimore publishing a U.S. edition in 2011.

In addition to his solo accomplishments, Robin collaborated on four impactful works: "Everyday Life in an Early West African Empire," "African Mathematics: History, Study Guide, and Classroom Lessons," "Black British History: Black Influences on British Culture 1948-2016," and "30 Black History Icons."

In 2022, Robin Walker took a bold step forward by co-founding "The Black Secret," an innovative online adult education enterprise dedicated to teaching Black History and African Heritage to adults. With a mission to educate and empower, Robin continues to be a trailblazer in the realm of Black history and heritage.
