We are thrilled to announce opportunities for four new Trustees to join The Africa Centre and bolster our current Board.

There is no better time to get involved in an African-led and Africa-facing charity that proudly positions itself at that pivotal cross-section between arts and culture, business and entrepreneurship.

We are looking for people with a passion for Africa and/or a willingness to immerse themselves in what our beautiful and exciting continent has to offer. A firm understanding of the wider environment in which The Africa Centre operates and strong connections with different parts of the continent and within African diaspora communities in the UK will be an added advantage.

We are particularly looking for someone to take on the role of Treasurer and also have vacancies for specialists in the following areas:

Income Generation & Fundraising
Arts & Cultural Programming
Community Development

Support Our Children & Young People's Education Fundraiser

The late great Nelson Mandela said, "Education is the most powerful weapon with which you can change the world". We are raising funds to develop an Education programme for children and young people. Many thanks to DJ MDKay who ran the 2024 London Marathon to help us kickstart our campaign.

Our Story

Originally conceived to foster non-governmental relations between newly independent Africa and Britain, The Africa Centre's mission is to educate, connect, and advocate for Africa and its diaspora. Previously located in Covent Garden, London for over five decades, we launched our new HQ in Southwark in June 2022.
