We are thrilled to be hosting an evening of film and music featuring Ed Keazor and several special guests. We hope you can join us.

The evening will start with a documentary created by Ed Keazor. Ed is a historian, lawyer, author, and documentary filmmaker. His books include ‘120 Great Nigerians You Never Knew’, ‘The Federation Cup and Nigerian Football’, ‘The Lagos Hamburg Line’ amongst others. He is also an award-winning filmmaker with the work ‘January 15 Untold Memories of the Nigerian-Biafran War’.

On the 28th of July, we will be screening the documentary created by Ed Keazor and Muni King-Keazor, ‘Lagos: The Birth of a City of Style (2017)" which focuses on the music, fashion, and style of Lagos Nigeria. It will be followed by an opportunity to ask questions and share experiences. Executive Producer Ugoma Ebilah will also be joining us for the event.

The screening will be followed by a performance from The Lagos AfroFunk Collective in: ‘THE LAGOS JUMP SESSIONS: ORIGINS OF AFROBEATS. The session will be a celebration of the Nigerian Highlife, Afrobeat, AfroFunk, and Afro-Jazz Revolution 1958-1988. The Collective features alumni of some of Africa’s foremost Afrobeat/AfroFunk ensembles. Such as Osibisa, Fela Kuti’s Egypt 80, Femi Kuti’s Positive Force, Lagbaja, Fela’s, The Funkees, Wrinkars Experience, Headzfunk and many more. This evening's special guests will be:

Alexa Butterworth - Classical violinist (Royal Scottish National Orchestra; English National Ballet ) and Orchestra Manager (Chineke!, Northern Chamber Orchestra.)

Ayo Odia - Saxophonist/Bandleader (Ex- Fela Kuti, Osibisa, Tony Allen ).

Ugoma Ebilah - Executive Producer of ‘Lagos: The Birth of a City of Style (2017)'.
