Current Funders and Patrons
Over the years the Africa Centre has enjoyed the support of many organisations and individuals including the African Union, individual African governments, UK businesses, EU, grant-making trusts and local government. Currently its main funder is the Arts Council England along with the on-going support of the Leventis Foundation. Current Patrons include:
- Nelson Mandela (Grand Patron)
- HE Paul Boateng, Britain’s first black cabinet minister and current High Commissioner to South Africa
- Ibrahim Gambari, UN Under Secretary General for the Department of Political Affairs
- Sir Frank Kennedy, past Chairman of the Africa Centre
