The event is a fundraiser for the United For Somali Students charity. They raise money to sponsor students, enabling them with a scholarship to attend higher education across Somalia.

This event is an Open Mic night and is part of a global campaign the United for Somali Students charity currently have running called ‘Teach Somalia’. The first event of the campaign was held at the Top Secret Comedy Club, underneath the Africa Centre hall, back in July 2012, which proved very successful.
