The Young Africa Centre invites you to a compelling evening dedicated to raising awareness about Sickle Cell Disease. Join us on Tuesday, 28 November at 6:30 pm for an insightful exploration into the background and impact of sickle cell disease within the Black community. This in-person gathering is designed to shed light on the nuances of the condition, share personal stories, and create a supportive environment for those directly affected.

Whether you have sickle cell, are a caregiver, a healthcare professional, or simply someone curious to learn more, this event is a rare chance to come together, share experiences, and contribute to building a stronger, more informed community.

Admission is free and donations are welcomed. Any donations made will go towards expanding the community events hosted by the Young Africa Centre.

ABOUT OUR COLLABORATORS:

Anthony Nolan is a distinguished UK charity, that focuses its efforts on battling leukemia and advancing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. The organisation actively oversees the recruitment and management of donors enlisted in the Anthony Nolan Register. Beyond donor coordination, Anthony Nolan is dedicated to pioneering research aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of bone marrow transplants.

African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust (ACLT) is a charity that has won over 40 awards for its commitment to providing hope to patients suffering from blood cancer and other illnesses where a matched donor of stem cells, blood, or organs is required to save lives. We believe that no one should die while waiting for a donor to become available, and that's what drives our work.
