DeLovie is a queer and non-binary filmmaker, activist, and photographer from Uganda. The evening will feature a screening of their short film THAT FLAMING UGANDAN HOMOSEXUAL and a discussion of their art and activism followed by a Q&A.

Deelee Dube - Jazz At The Africa Centre

London-born and multi-award-winning vocal artist and songwriter Deelee Dubé will perform live at the Africa Centre. She made history as the first British Sassy Awards recipient, winning the prestigious Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition in 2016, and possesses what Jazz Times called 'a warm tone, genuine blues feeling and easy rhythmic authority'.

Originally conceived to foster non-governmental relations between newly independent Africa and Britain, The Africa Centre's mission is to educate, connect, and advocate for Africa and its diaspora. Previously located in Covent Garden, London for over five decades, we launched our new HQ in Southwark in June 2022.
