Alkebulan Retro Games Night

Come and enjoy a nostalgic selection of board, card, and console games as well as African games within a backdrop of African music. This monthly event is delivered in collaboration with Ancestral Futures and SKWKS and is designed to bring creatives from the African diaspora together.

The event is open to all and attendance is free. You're welcome to bring your own games and we encourage everyone to make an effort to get to know each other.

The night will feature a live set by DJ Lo-Wu (@lowusounds), a South London-born and based Music producer, Composer, Sound designer, and DJ.

Deelee Dube - Jazz At The Africa Centre

London-born and multi-award-winning vocal artist and songwriter Deelee Dubé will perform live at the Africa Centre. She made history as the first British Sassy Awards recipient, winning the prestigious Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition in 2016, and possesses what Jazz Times called 'a warm tone, genuine blues feeling and easy rhythmic authority'.

Our Story

Originally conceived to foster non-governmental relations between newly independent Africa and Britain, The Africa Centre's mission is to educate, connect, and advocate for Africa and its diaspora. Previously located in Covent Garden, London for over five decades, we launched our new HQ in Southwark in June 2022.
